Our Wireline Services
Our wireline division is one of the most complete in California. Whether you need pipe recovery, formation evaluation, or precision perforating, MMI has the equipment and expertise to get it done safely and efficiently. We’ve maintained a strong wireline presence in the industry since 1970 — and that experience shows in every job we run.
Our fleet ranges from agile one-ton wireline trucks for routine intervention work to full combination units capable of perforating, pipe recovery, and logging on a single mobilization. Every truck is staffed by experienced wireline operators and stocked with a complete downhole tool inventory.
Pipe Recovery
When pipe gets stuck or lost downhole, minimizing non-productive time is everything. MMI’s pipe recovery capabilities include free point determination, back-off operations, string shot and nitro gel, chemical cutters, jet cutters, and auxiliary pipe recovery — giving our crews the full toolkit to address virtually any stuck pipe situation efficiently and safely.
Perforating
MMI runs full perforating operations including TCP heads in both 1 11/16″ and 1 3/8″ configurations, C-4 shots, and dedicated perforating trucks. Our perforating services are optimized for formation access and completion efficiency across a wide range of well conditions.
Cutting Tools and RCT
For tubular severance in intervention and abandonment operations, MMI deploys chemical cutters, jet cutters, and the Radial Cutting Torch (RCT) — providing reliable options for even the most demanding wellbore conditions.
Pressure and Firing Systems
MMI utilizes Absolute Pressure Firing Head technology for accurate, reliable downhole activation — a critical component in well control and perforating operations where precision matters.
Wireline Applications
MMI’s wireline crews are equipped and trained to execute across the full range of wireline applications, including free point, chemical cutters, jet cutters, back-off, auxiliary pipe recovery, string shot and nitro gel, absolute pressure firing head, RCT (radial cutting torch), perforating, C-4 shots, and 1 11/16″ and 1 3/8″ TCP heads.
Downhole Inspection & Diagnostic Services
MMI Services provides wireline support for downhole inspection and diagnostic applications. Downhole inspection helps operators evaluate conditions inside the wellbore, identify potential casing or tubing issues, locate obstructions, assess well integrity, and determine the next step for maintenance, repair, workover, or abandonment operations.
Using experienced crews and specialized wireline equipment, MMI supports oilfield operators that need a better understanding of downhole conditions before moving forward with pipe recovery, perforating, cutting, logging, or other well servicing work.
